I'm wearing an extremely itchy sweater right now. I'll never understand how fabric can totally alter one's mood. anyway, I am feeling the eve of a really special year. I've never been in such good spirits (aside from violent scratching). my album makes me want to eat it. I'm thinkin that's a good thing. I looooooooooove it. don't mean to tease, but thought you should know the wait is worth somethin. also there's a cool "making of" dvd that will come out with harmonium. look for white houses in june (with a rad video). album drops in early august. things get pushed back for excellent reasons. see you all at the shows.

it's been too long. first off, I'd like to thank the few people who were picked to come to the dvd taping. I was overwhelmed by how far some of you traveled ( through the raging snow no less!!). for the rest of you....our time will come. I'm in the desert right now. I almost got bucked off a horse named whitecloud about an hour ago. I squeezed for my life. whew. can't think of a better way to spend the holidays. on to the record, look out for teen people cause I'm doing little diary entries about the album for the next three months. by the way, I just wrote two new songs that are bumping some old ones off. I'm so proud of them. I do believe I have a new first single. woohoo. also, everything is moved back. I'll be finished in march, the record is scheduled to be released in june. I promise it's worth the wait. one last thing, out of respect for my online posse I will announce my album title before everyone reads it in the teen people column......drumroll....... the name of the album is.....Harmonium.............put that in your pipe and smoke it, (not too hard though). love you guys. until next year.

just kidding. I just thought that article didn't quite capture what I was trying to say. you all deserve the crystal clear facts. cuz I love ya. RS failed to mention the Cure sounds that I've been toying with, along with a jammin booty rockin song called Private Radio. There are dark themes and creepy sounding strings (you guys should here She Floats!!!) but i'm not writing an industrial record and though I love NIN, wiccan culture (it's rad), and corsets, I am not a descendent of a germanic tribe. my advice, ignore the press til you have the record.

guys, I feel so alive right now. It's sunday night. The pesky smell in the kitchen has been solved. It was of course.....a dead mouse. Thankfully, there is a man in my life to pick it up and gag for me. More importantly, this album is hugely personal and (not surprisingly) gothic. I am completely immersed. A friend of mine is doing a film/documentary about the making of this album. There is a segment in the film where fans will be invited over to the studio to be interviewed and view a little show from yours truly. More info to follow in the news section. You guys are gonna love this stuff (if I may be so bold).

back from chicago. it was fun. that song is ridiculously hard. I actually think the canadian anthem is a better song musically. Our anthem is so friggin violent. I'm workin' away on about fourteen new tunes. I'd like to only put ten on the album. most of it is stuff you guys have never heard before. I'm terribly excited. I've got a lot of work to do. No more tube tops for me.

Hello to all the dedicated peeps.
You never cease to surprise me with your fine words, debates, and opinions. I feel proud of the community that never sleeps! I have officially become the quasi martha stewart. Things don't always go perfectly when it comes to painting and folding, but I have made the effort. I am spending my days writing music, rearranging my house, and returning pillows. It is luxurious to say the least. I am loving my solitude. I am realizing that I am an innate loner. It's kinda funny that I didn't notice it so much before. The soundtrack to my days consists of new tunes that I've written, Trail of the Dead, and The grateful dead.......(ummm that's a coincidence). I'm very much alive and buzzing. you all seem to be the same.

it's been too long. I'm home visiting my parents with a bad case of bronchitis and strep throat. It totally blows and so does my nose (did I really just type that). Anyway, you guys should know that you're part of the reason that I was at the grammy's. It was a cool night to say the least. I love james taylor. I'm so sorry. I've never cancelled before. Unfortunately, we had to switch venues last minute in Milan and I couldn't fit my freakin' piano down the stairs. Sometimes I wish I played drum. Everyone who bought tickets, I promise I'll make it up to you. This is my first and last cancellation as long as I can help it.

It feels so good to see familiar faces across the country. Everywhere feels like home. The tour is incredible. As tired as I am during the day, the minute I step on stage I'm completely alive. You guys are an incredible audience to play music for. Alright..... enough ass kissin', heehee. I go to Puerto Rico tomorrow to hang out with Regis. It's strange to say the least. He's the most hyper older man I've ever encountered. My mom's gonna be my beach bum partner tomorrow. Two chicks in their swanky bikinis!!!! Before you guys delve into turkey and stuffing, make sure you catch me on tv freezing my ass off at the half time show. It's gonna be hilarious.

Hey guys,
just so you know, mtv banned the true ending of the PB video. The dude is tied to a chair with duct tape over his mouth. That's why I'm holding tape in the beginning of the video. There's a "no bondage" rule I suppose. It's silly, but they wouldn't play the video unless we took out the tape. Just thought you guys should know what you're missing. I'm kind of bummed, it's still cool though.

just thought I'd share some moments with you guys via good old technology. My tour is a dream. You guys that make it out are my down home peeps. Thank you. I shared the stage yesterday with, Neil Young, James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Thom Yorke and the Foos (there are more). Neil is an actual fan of mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's unbelievable. It was such an honor. I get to do it all again today. Tonight I'm singing with neil and company. Pretty Baby video is sure to be a big surprise. Perhaps, you won't be too afraid of my penchant for twisted, weird, yet kinda funny stuff. Confused? You'll see. See you all at the shows

First and foremost I must report that I'm going to England, Germany, AUSTRALIA!!!! (one whole week), France, and Japan. I got three weeks of traveling starting Monday. The Goos tour was much fun, however, it makes me itch even more for my headlining tour in a few weeks. For all of you who haven't seen my bangs in person yet, you must come to a show in a few weeks.

been too long. I'm getting giddy planning my next tour. FYI all songs like superhero, swindler, all i ask, etc. are gonna be played. It's gonna be a very cool show. I'm combining acoustic stuff, with my full band, and of course a bit of solo piano/vocal. I'll premiere some new songs as well. I can't wait. Everything is amazing. The Goos are such good guys. I just did the Buffalo show. It was pretty rockin'. I've been gettin onstage with Johnny and the boys at the end of the night being the badass rockstar that I am. heehee. FYI, the bus caught on fire two days ago. Everything kinda smells like ass. I'm also convinced that the reason I've been sleeping 14hrs. every night is because I've been inhaling engine fumes through my AC vent. Great. Aside from all the drama, the shows are going really smooth. My only qualm is with the lack of toffuti cream cheese. Dude, it's the ultimate non-dairy product.

It's hot as hell here! My god, the beads of sweat. So far, the tour has been very cool. The Goos are really sweet guys. I'm the only chick for miles around which can be difficult at times, but hell, this is the ultimate summer job. FYI I've been sleeping alot lately. Seriously, I might have a disorder. 14hrs. a night!!! Kisses to all my new and old fans in the states and around the world. I promise to play for all of you before I die. I'm back in the big city, sitting in my apartment. Whew. Those London trips are slightly insane and ever so rainy. I liked it better this time though. I can't wait to play tomorrow. I'm in London, all by myself, in a strange hotel room. This is officially the first time that I have ever posted a message from my on laptop. Miracles do happen. Of course I've already lost the plug/ adapter thingy, but the actual computer is alive and well and sitting content underneath my fingers. I don't feel lonely at the moment...it's more like my room feels lonely. I think it's bored. I slept four hours on the plane today. Glorious!!!! Sleep is great. I'm so excited that you guys like the OD video. I was freezing my ass off the whole time! I get to play the song, just me and my keys, at the mtv beach house on the 16th. hey -- I actually have the night off tonight! I'm not sure if that's good considering everytime I take a stroll and step off a curb I almost get hit by a car. I swear I've almost died twice.
My dad is here!!! I've missed him. He's out here flying...(he's a pilot). At the moment, he's snoring on the couch in my hotel room. I'm off to Sweden tomorrow. I know it must sound so glamorous, but all I really see is a hotel room and an airplane cabin. I miss the states. I miss my bed. I miss my piano!!! I realized that I haven't mentioned how grateful I am to all of those that went out and bought my record. I hope to provide much listening pleasure for the rest of my life....or atleast until I can't play anymore. Much love.

I just got back from Cleveland. I'm in dire need of a really deep nap. Haven't written in a little bit. A lot of stuff has happened since I last wrote. First of all, the whole album is out. I'm having a hard time grasping the idea of a lot of people knowing who I am. It's surreal. I'm the exact same girl as I was before..(just as sleepy), but now one might travel a very long distance to see it all go down. "It" meaning me arriving at an airport or getting out of a car. I am honored to have such devoted and inspired fans. Afterall, you guys are the reason why I decided to release a record. Thanks for the generosity and the love. With all that said, I really gotta catch a wink. Being not nobody can definitely be grueling.....I welcome it.

I'm sure there were a million questions that never got answered on the teen people chat. I wish I could answer all of them. I'll try to answer a few more for ya.1)I am going to tour Europe next week and the week after. 2) The part that I like that most about my songwriting are the melodies that come out of my hands and pour into the piano. It feels as if I become possessed by the keys. 3) I am dying to get out there and play for eneryone in the flesh. It is definitely my strong suit.........is that better? Guys, my album is sitting in brown boxes all over the country waiting their turn to get played. I might as well be in there with them. It feels like Christmas Eve or something. I can only hope that I bring a bit of hope to somebody's music box. Enjoy my record for it will certainly enjoy you.

hey -- It's 1:15pm on a clock that's ten minutes fast. I'm tired and dreamy. I have four more days until the official release of an album that is all mine. Actually, on tuesday the album won't be mine anymore....it will be yours. That is why musicians make albums; to give it away. I write the songs, but perhaps it is the fans that sing the true melody. I hope that this record is as healing and empowering for you, the listening ears, as it was for me creating it. I am overcome at the moment. I am giddy for an album of my songs will see the light of day in one week, meanwhile, the thought that is ringing in my head right now is 'my feet are really cold...I need socks'. I'm sitting in my parents living room...(that's where the piano lives) writing a new song and feeling perfectly content in the middle of the night at the edge of a lake. I gotta go find socks now. just got back from a beautiful hike with a friend and twol smelly hilarious dogs.....I really miss not being to do a whole show. I wish I could play for atleast 45 minutes. Leno was cool, but it all goes by so quick. Leno is such the friendly man. I suppose some of you guys heard my nerves. It wasn't the best vocal I've ever done, but i thought it sounded cool ....I really do love to sing A Thousand Miles. Can't wait to sing acoustic on TRL. You guys meke me feel like such the lucky girl. I love my fans more than anything. you guys are the reason why I do what I do.....

haven't talked in a bit. Got some news.....the album is getting mastered today, then shipped off to the factory. I've been waiting for this day for a sweet hot second. I must confess I'm dying to go on tour. I really got to get in front of you guys and play. It keeps me going. FYI I got lost today for an hour in my car and I ate some really sweet green grapes. God I love grapes. Needless to say, the grapes helped me find my way home.

Back from Jamaica....all I have to say is that I stayed at Hedonism 3. It was the most alarmingly naked place I've ever been to. No one told me everyone was gonna be nude. Needless to say there was a lot of shriveledness going on. I'm so ecstatic about being home right now. I will not join a nudist colony. I will not join a nudist colony. I will not join a nudist colony. Did you know that there are glass bottom hot tubs with viewing pools underneath them? Is that really necessary? Ha hahahah!!! Anyway, enough about that. Looking forward to Regis. He's quite the man isn't he. I have to shorten A thousand miles to 2minutes and 20seconds in order to fit it on the show. Just a warning. The things I do for Regis.

I had fun with Zach on Late World. He's a cool cat. I really did eat a leaf. It didn't taste bad, although.... I wouldn't recommend it. By the way, the song "watch me shine" isn't me. I don't know who's it is. Just a mistake I guess. Going to Jamaica tomorrow at 5am for three days of radio promo. I'm certainly not complaining. It will be nice to be in the ocean for a sec. Hey,
I just found out that I'll be in the UK for two weeks in May. I'll be all over Europe. This summer I'll be traveling to Japan and Australia. I'll also be doing radio concerts until I go on tour in June. I might be on the last leg of the DMB tour this summer.Travis, Coldplay, and Alanis are other possibilities. We'll see. By fall, I hope to be headlining. That would be crazy. Anyway, I'm really excited about doing Late World with Zack on VH1. It airs on March 25th. More details to come. It was my bros birthday today; he's twelve. He's a mini man.

Hey,
I don't know if my cold went away or if I'm just really happy this morning. Oh, it's 2pm isn't it. I just woke up. I'm going back to LA tomorrow morning to rehearse with my band and finish album artwork. I can't tell you much I adore the cover of Be Not Nobody. It's kind of reminisent of some of the old 70's illustrated album covers, but it's definitely all me. Hey guys......guess what! I'm not supposed to say this yet, cause my label hasn't released the date, but I don't really care. My album comes out on April 30!!!!!!! yeah baby. Finally!!! It will have eleven songs including all of the lyrics and some cool pics in the booklet. Up until then, I'll be doing lots of radio shows, a few talk shows, and possibly SNL!!
Anyway as always, I love reading your posts. To the dude who's a little concerned about what the chicks are gonna think if you wear a VC t-shirt to school.....I say go for it. Soon enough there will be t-shirts with a tourquoise unicorn profile on the front!!!! (that's the plan) That should make it easy on the boys.

I'm back from Asia!!!! I liked Hong Kong the best. I feel like such a lucky girl to be able to travel like this, however, it was pure business. I didn't really have any time to sight see, but I'm not complaining. How are you guys!!!?? My ultimate fans!!! Much love. I've been working so hard getting this album out as soon as possible.

Hey -- I just got back to LA last night. I'm at the studio right now going through tracks and editing. I had so much fun last week in NY. TRL was so crazy. I don't know if anyone could tell but I was really nervous. Carson made me feel comfortable. People were singing along to my song! I couldn't believe it. Cool messages. Thanks.

I just got back from LA. There's 8 inches of snow on the ground in PA. I love it!! I'm going back to NYC tomorrow night, but atleast I get one night at my parents house. I really missed my dog!!! She's an extremely emotionally sensitive black lab named Maggie. She's crazy. I don't know what I'd do without her. FYI to those who wondered if I draw my website......I do. Glad you dig it.

Hey -- I can't believe I'm a TRL wannabe already. To everyone who is voting......thanks. I really do have the best fans ever. FYI the reason I'm not on the radio yet is because radio stations haven't even gotten the song yet, but they will. (If you guys want to, you can call stations and request the song.) MTV has just been incredibly supportive and started playing my video.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to going to NY. I miss my apartment!! I'm leaving LA on the 20th for my TRL show on the 24th. I'm kind of nervous, but excited at the same time. MTV is being so awesome. Thanks again for the TRL votes.
PS. to the guy who is mad at me for playing with a band....chill man. I do acoustic stuff all the time and I will until I'm old and can't play anymore. There's an acoustic version of Twilight on my single. peace man

Just want everyone to know that I get so excited everyday to check out what you guys say. I honestly never expected so many amazing messages. I have the best fans ever. I can't wait for you all to be able to hear the rest of the songs on the album. I'm not sure if I should be saying this (my record company is gonna kill me), but the B side of the single ("A Thousand Miles") is going to be a special live version of the song "Twilight". Twilight is just me and the piano. Just want you guys to know. (Look for it in early feb.)

Don't worry. I'm true. MTV has helped me so much. You guys wouldn't have heard my stuff if MTV2 hadn't run the video. Check TRL tomorrow (Friday) there going to air the video! FYI just got back to LA from Arizona (I was riding horses). I'm finishing up vocals on a few songs and rehearsing with my band. Trying to decide on album cover, but I don't like the pictures. (I hate getting my picture taken.)
Just found out that I got two tickets last week for running red lights. My mom says that I'm a begginer driver but I swear I'm intermediate. Peace
